Background
Africa of my Dream Series is promoted by Goldridge Publishing in collaboration with FVDI – Faith & Values Development Initiative, an NGO registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission with reg. no: CAC/IT/NO 57883. We recognize the power of Africa’s rich cultural heritage, diversity, and values. We also know that women are at the center of Africa’s rich cultural heritage, and their development will positively impact on the prosperity of the continent.
AFOMDS is a creative series that adapt gender experiences in our communities, and builds engaging stories out of them, to shape values in our society, especially gender relationships and the empowerment of women. It will achieve the following:
- A creative platform for women to tell their stories as published authors.
- Allow women to participate in shaping the outlook of communities by writing,
- Use creative writing to sustain the ideals of gender equality, and promote stories on family values, cultural Identity, faith, gender relationship, and much more. Rekindle Interest in reading and writing among young people in Africa and thereby Improve our learning systems.
- Involve more women in shaping contemporary socio-cultural
outlook of our communities
BENEFITS TO PARTICIPANTS
Why participate ?
1. It is a gateway to a Publishing or writing career. Goldridge Publishing will sign on
outstanding participants and publish their works.
2. Her book qualifies for our annual “Africa of my Dreams Literary Prize” and stands a
chance of winning the $2000 prize money and free publishing contract.
3. Strengthen relationship between youth and their respective communities and
challenge them on the values of citizenship, civic participation and patriotism..
4. Participate in reading as advocacy for behavioral change through values reorientation,communication and mobilization for a better society..
5. We will provide editing, proofreading and layout design services at a minimal cost.
PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
The project will connect over 20,000 young women, locations selected from different development zones within the country and premium technology will bring together influencers and participants. The project website will be interactive and engaging to connect participants/stakeholders and guide social action toward realizing program objectives. Its an intensive social project in a mix of seminar/webinar format, incorporating the following:

Timeframe
Empowerment Seminar / Project framework defined with resource Persons from government agencies, private sector and religious institutions.
[Public Presentation] – The first level presentation of the books written under the
Scheme. The public event be graced by top government officials, NGOs etc.
Goldridge Publishing has an affiliation with global publishing brands and will leverage this to reach an extensive print and digital media audience. This will be put at the disposal of our authors to grow their reputation.

its recent book “Is The Future Female?” as theme to discuss the growing relevance of women in

Meet the Head of the Editorial Team and Panel of Judges
Emmanuel Adedayo Adedun is a Professor of Sociolinguistics and Applied English Linguistics. He was Head of the English Department and Sub-Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies, University of Lagos. He is currently the Head of the Department of Languages and Director, Centre for Continuing Education, Mountain Top University.
Prof. Adedun is also the Chairman of Dr. D.K. Olukoya Scholarship Foundation. His publications cut across many countries and continents including Ghana, the UK, Sweden, Germany, Romania, and the USA. He is a Target Language Consultant at Foreign Language Centre at the University of Maryland, USA. He is happily married with children.
