Who We Are

A Values-Driven Organisation Serving Africa

The Faith and Values Development Initiative (FVDI) is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation focused on rebuilding Africa through value-based development. We work to strengthen families, empower young people, and drive community transformation using education, creativity, and faith-aligned programmes.

Our conviction is simple: strong values build strong people, and strong people build strong communities. Everything we do — from training and mentorship to creative projects and partnerships — is designed to reflect that belief.

Our Core Beliefs

We believe in the dignity of every person, the importance of family and community, and the power of faith-rooted values to shape behaviour, decisions, and long-term development.

  • Every young person deserves guidance, opportunity, and hope.
  • Families are the first school of values and character.
  • Communities grow stronger when they share a culture of responsibility, compassion, and integrity.
Our Mission

Using Values to Shape People and Communities

Our mission is to nurture faith-driven, value-centred individuals and communities through programmes that strengthen identity, responsibility, creativity, and purpose.

Family Development

Supporting families with tools, conversations, and programmes that promote stability, communication, and shared values.

Youth Empowerment

Equipping young people with mentoring, training, and life skills that help them lead with confidence and integrity.

Education & Literacy

Encouraging reading, storytelling, and continuous learning as pathways to personal growth and social impact.

Community Values

Working with communities to promote responsibility, compassion, and collaboration through practical initiatives.

Our Work with Goldridge

Partnering on the “Africa of My Dream Series”

FVDI serves as the values-development partner for the Africa of My Dream Series (AFOMDS), a literary platform promoted by Goldridge Publishing. Through this collaboration, we help ensure that the stories published under the series reflect strong values and responsible storytelling.

We work alongside authors and partners to highlight themes such as faith, family values, cultural identity, social responsibility, and the dignity of women and youth across Africa.

How We Contribute

  • Guiding the values framework for AFOMDS projects and publications.
  • Collaborating on outreach and programmes linked to reading and storytelling.
  • Helping identify and support emerging voices who can positively shape African narratives.

FVDI runs and supports programmes that are practical, engaging, and deeply values-oriented.

Literary & Creative Development

Writing workshops, storytelling clubs, and creativity clinics that give young people a voice and a platform.

Values & Faith Education

Seminars, small groups, and resources that help individuals and families deepen their understanding of faith and values.

Youth Leadership & Character

Mentorship, leadership labs, and life-skills initiatives that develop character, resilience, and responsibility.

Media & Advocacy

Using media and creative content to highlight positive role models, promote healthy values, and address social issues.

Why FVDI Matters
We believe Africa’s future will not be built by infrastructure alone, but by the values, character, and vision of its people. FVDI exists to strengthen those foundations — in homes, in schools, in communities, and in the hearts of young leaders across the continent.
Partnership

Partner With FVDI

We welcome partnerships with organisations, schools, faith communities, and individuals who share our commitment to shaping values and empowering people.
